Grants & Funding

Since 1994, ServeOhio has supported hundreds of community-based organizations that engage local citizens to address their most pressing needs through service and volunteerism. Each year, ServeOhio awards nearly $10 million in grants to nonprofit, community, government, and faith-based organizations that administer AmeriCorps programs and national days of service volunteer projects. These organizations engage thousands of Ohioans who contribute over 1 million hours of service each year.

AmeriCorps Funding

ServeOhio provides grants to organizations that demonstrate they will engage AmeriCorps members to provide a service intervention that addresses a critical need in Ohio. We offer two funding competitions each year - a formula funding competition in the spring and a competitive funding competition in the fall.

AmeriCorps National Direct applicants -  please complete the National Direct Consultation form to notify ServeOhio of your intent to place National AmeriCorps members in Ohio.  Consultation is a requirement outlined in the AmeriCorps NOFO for new, re-compete, and continuation applicants.

National Days of Service Funding

ServeOhio, in conjunction with it's partner American Electric Power Foundation, provides grants up to $1,000 to support community service projects organized for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service (January), Global Youth Service Day (April), ServeOhio Day (June), and Make a Difference Day (October). Non-profit and public organizations in Ohio including, but not limited to, volunteer connector organizations, K-12 school buildings and districts, community colleges, universities, and local governments are eligible to apply.
