In her service role, Elexis helps to develop the student resource center on campus where students can go to be connected to basic needs such as food, housing supports, and more so they can reach their fullest potential. Making a Difference One Student at a Time

The Ohio Reading and Math Corps is a statewide AmeriCorps program that engages 120 AmeriCorps Members who provide math and reading intervention for students in kindergarten through grade five who have not met grade-level proficiency. Rural Action AmeriCorps Members Continue to Get Things Done during Pandemic

Ohio AmeriCorps members continue to adapt the way they serve their communities during the COVID-19 pandemic. Though the service may look different, they are still making an incredible impact on those they serve. Learn more about Madison Donahue and Ashley Grace, both AmeriCorps members with Rural Action’s Appalachian Ohio Restore Corps program. Madison and Ashley’s service demonstrates that even in the most extraordinary circumstances, AmeriCorps members continue to get things done. In the words of Ashley, “yes, times are tough, and things aren’t the way we wish they could be, but there’s still something we can do.”

Member Spotlight – Tucker Hlad

AmeriCorps members often solidify existing interests and work toward future career goals during their service experience. This was the case for 24-year-old Tucker Hlad. Currently performing his service through online video and chat features due to COVID-19 restrictions, Tucker shares about his experience with Mentors for Success in Columbus and how it has shaped him personally and professionally.
