Meet Elexis Hamby, AmeriCorps member with Ohio Campus Compact at Kent State University. In her service role, Elexis helps to develop the student resource center on campus where students can go to be connected to basic needs such as food, housing supports, and more so they can reach their fullest potential. As our communities continue to confront the devastating impacts of COVID-19, now one year later, national service is playing a more critical role than ever. In honor of AmeriCorps Week (March 7th-14th), we are proud to recognize and celebrate the many contributions of AmeriCorps members serving Ohio communities to “get things done.”

Making a Difference One Student at a Time

The Ohio Reading and Math Corps is a statewide AmeriCorps program that engages 120 AmeriCorps Members who provide math and reading intervention for students in kindergarten through grade five who have not met grade-level proficiency.
