Ohio AmeriCorps members continue to adapt the way they serve their communities during the COVID-19 pandemic. Though the service may look different, they are still making an incredible impact on those they serve. Learn more about Madison Donahue and Ashley Grace, both AmeriCorps members with Rural Action’s Appalachian Ohio Restore Corps program. Madison and Ashley’s service demonstrates that even in the most extraordinary circumstances, AmeriCorps members continue to get things done. In the words of Ashley, “yes, times are tough, and things aren’t the way we wish they could be, but there’s still something we can do.”

Serving Ohio Veterans

Wednesday, November 11 marks Veterans Day 2020. ServeOhio is excited to recognize the service of our country’s military members and look ahead to the launch of a new AmeriCorps program—Serving Ohio Veterans—in partnership with the Ohio Suicide Prevention Foundation.

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month.  And this month, across the state, there are several ways to engage with the community, including domestic violence education campaigns, outreach events, and memorial activities. We're also proud to partner with the Ohio Domestic Violence Network this year to launch a new AmeriCorps initiative, the Financial Freedom Corps. Learn more!

As schools start across the state, Ohio AmeriCorps members continue their work supporting Ohio’s K-12 students.  Fourteen education-focused AmeriCorps programs will engage hundreds of individuals to creatively connect with students to support them academically, emotionally, and socially during the pandemic.

Get Connected is ServeOhio’s new volunteer engagement platform and is the only statewide volunteer portal in Ohio. The site compiles volunteer engagement resources from across the state and helps volunteer engagement professionals recruit and manage volunteers for their organization. The best part - it's free!
